In 1993 the Australian Government signed a treaty with the British Government in relation to the nuclear testing carried out on our soil. Under the 1993 treaty the Australian Government agreed to indemnify the British government in the event of any future compensation claims lodged in relation to nuclear tests carried out by the British. Thousands of Australians have suffered as a result of the British nuclear testing and to this day, have not received a cent in compensation.
